Note 007: Sam + Carley | Engagement at Riverbend
This day was more than three months in the making. Sam had carefully selected all the components of the day to make Carley’s dream proposal come true. The backdrop was the garden at Riverbend, the private club on the Sheboygan River on a beautiful spring afternoon. Both Sam + Carley’s families traveled from far and wide to meet in the Kohler village to add to the surprise and celebration.
We all stayed in contact via text with phones on silent. Until Sam + Carley arrived, the family hid in the library while I was stationed in the exterior stairwell with the gazebo in view. Finally, all of the planning came to this exact moment…
…and she said yes!
As soon as the newly engaged couple turned around, the family was on the porch to surprise Carley for the second big reveal of the day. The Riverbend staff was perfectly coordinated in presenting champagne for the toast that started the journey of bringing these two families together.
A few Facetime calls were made to the close family members that couldn’t make the trip to share the good news and show off Carley’s breathtaking new piece of jewelry. We took a few portraits in the garden and ended our time together with a group photo. Following cocktail hour, the family stayed at Riverbend for a custom curated four course dinner to continue the celebration into the evening.
