Note 003: National Media Spot, LAX

My first time in LA. My first location shoot in LA.

We ventured west to capture still images for the Kohler faucets National Media Spot, working on a sound stage in Pacoima over the course of three days. Reports indicated that this was the first week Hollywood resumed full production since the Pandemic began five months prior. The creative and production efforts for this commercial were led by Scholar, overseeing the video team. Once the video crew completed their tasks, I joined the stills team, focusing on photographing each faucet “personality” within their respective environments. The pace was rapid, the energy intense—it truly embodied the essence of Hollywood.

The trip to LA was brief but packed with experiences. Despite the long workdays, I carved out moments to explore the Beverly Grove area, where Beverly Hills meets West Hollywood. Enjoyed the sunshine, saw the palm trees, discovered EggSlut. Kept a bit of a low profile on my inaugural location with Kohler, I enjoyed Indian food in my hotel room while catching up on the summer Olympics, ensuring I stayed well-rested for the trip. The next visit to LA is sure to be longer, as my list of activities and places to see has expanded significantly. #CaliforniaLove

Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.
